Funds, invested under OP "Transport" 2007 – 2013 at the end of the programming period, will reach nearly 95%. This was stated by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski during the opening ceremony of the Montana bypass. In his words, this is a high percentage for absorption, given the enormous financial resources of the programme and the complexity of infrastructure projects.
The construction of the bypass roads of Montana and Vratsa, which have been built by means of the programme financing, are part of our consistent policy that we conduct aimed at more investment in the Northwestern region of the country, said Ivaylo Moskovski. He added that the construction of competitive infrastructure will attract investment and the region will get a completely new outlook. Minister Moskovski pointed out that the traffic at the Danube Bridge 2 has increased 4 times in comparison with the parameters set in advance, and it is vital for the adjoining infrastructure also to be rehabilitated and constructed.
The event was attended by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Lilyana Pavlova, the Chairman of the Managing Board of the "Road Infrastructure" Agency Lazar Lazarov, representatives of the local and the executive authorities.
The project has been financed under Operational Programme on "Transport 2007-2013". The contractor of the construction is “Obhod Montana” Association and the value of the construction contract is 46 572 618.11 levs including VAT. The construction supervision has been carried out by "En Ar - Infram - 2" Association and amounts to 1 512 000 levs, including VAT.
