The construction of Lot 4 of the Trakiya Motorway was officially launched on 3 September 2010. The total length of the Yambol-Karnobat section is 49.08 km (from 276th + 200 km to 325th +280 km). The motorway will run via the territory of Yambol and Bourgas regions. There will be two lanes in each direction.
The construction of Lot 4 of Trakiya Motorway is financed under the Cohesion Fund of the EU through Priority Axis 2, Development of Road Infrastructure along the Trans-European and Major National Transport Axes, of OP Transport 2007-2013.
Attending the ceremony were the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Boyko Borissov, National Assembly Deputy Chair Anastas Anastassov, MPs, regional governors, municipality mayors, public figures and other officials.
Prime Minister Boyko Borissov handed the construction permit for the facility to Orlin Hadjiyankov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Holding Putishta AD (leading partner in the partnership, Trakiya IV DZZD [company under the Obligations and Contracts Act] - the project contractor). The Prime Minister said that the construction of the Trakiya Motorway is a part of the efforts for economic recovery. He was categorical that this important infrastructure project will be implemented by mid-2012.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Holding Putishta AD, Orlin Hadjiyankov, declared the intention of the project contractor, Trakiya IV DZZD, city of Sofia, to fulfill the commitment undertaken duly and within deadline. He gave assurances that the partnership has the necessary capacity and resources to complete the construction of Lot 4 within the envisaged deadline.
The contracts on construction and construction supervision of the Yambol-Karnobat section of the Trakiya Motorway were signed on 31 August 2010 at Road Infrastructure Agency.
The Trakiya IV DZZD partnership, city of Sofia, was awarded a public procurement contract for design and construction of site, Trakiya Motorway (А-4) Orizovo - Bourgas, section: Lot 4 Yambol - Karnobat, from 276th +200 km to 325th +280 km. A total of six companies were admitted for participation in the bidding. Holding Putishta is the leading partner in the company. The other partners are Putnostroitelna Technika [Road Construction Equipment] EAD, Vidaputstroi EAD, Bourgasputstroi AD, Putengineering M AD, Moststroy AD, Galchev Engineering Group AD, Putengineeringstroi-T AD and AB AD.
Plan Invest - Plovdivinvest - Lot 4 DZZD, city of Plovdiv, is the first-ranked bidder in the competition for construction supervision held with the participation of eight companies.
