The Coordination of Programmes and Projects Directorate within the Ministry of Transport, information technology and communications was selected to act as Managing Authority of the Operational Programme on Transport. It will be responsible to ensure efficiency and correctness of implementation of operations co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the Cohesion Fund.

In addition, the Managing Authority bears the responsibility for the dissemination and the promotion of the programme. The goal of the public presentation of the OPT is to underline the role of the Community in the process of development of the transport infrastructure in Bulgaria, and to guarantee transparent use and management of the aid provided by the European Regional Development Fund and the Cohesion Fund.
