All contracts with contractors to build the first stage of the third metro line have been signed.

The ceremony for launching the activity of the tunnel boring machine that will construct the third beam of Sofia metro was held on 27th of February 2017.

This is the most complicated section of the metro that passes through downtown and reaches the quarter of Ovcha Kupel.

Since the first programming period OP on "Transport" is financially involved in the construction of metro stations with over a billion BGN and the results are visible for all citizens and guests of the city.

For the current programming period in OP on "Transport and transport infrastructure" are provided another 685 million BGN and in 2019 the distance from Ovcha kupel to downtown would be taken within 10 minutes by metro.
