At its 7th regular meeting, held on 24 November 2009, the Monitoring Committee adopted an Indicative Working Programme of Operational Programme Transport for 2010. The meeting was unveiled and presided over by Mr. Ivialo Moskovski, Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications.
According to the adopted Working Programme, application forms for the first half of 2010 are expected to be submitted within the following projects: design of the Vidin-Sofia railway line; upgrading of sections of the Sofia-Plovdiv railway line; upgrading of the infrastructure along the Plovdiv-Bourgas line; completion of the Trakiya Motorway; and construction of an intermodal terminal in the city of Sofia. The total provisional value of these projects exceeds 955 million EUR, which accounts for about 50 per cent of the budget of OP Transport for this programming period.
The participants discussed the progress on the projects to be financed under the operational programme and the delay of the preparation of some of them. Deputy Minister Moskovski familiarized the representatives of the European Commission with all Ministry-undertaken measures for overcoming the problems having occurred and voiced confidence that these actions will soon yield results.
Participating in the meeting were Dimiter Savov, Authorizing Officer of the Managing Authority of OP Transport 2007-2013, Jeroen Van Oel and Zsolt Tosegi of DG Regional Policy, Iooannis Gevelis of DG Transport and Energy, Aleksandar Alexandrov and Pasquale Staffini of the Jaspers initiative, representatives of the Managing Authority and beneficiaries of OP Transport.
